I have shoulder length curly wavy hair - it is manageable when brushed back at the top but at the back it is really thick and curly and after I use hair product it becomes poofy, unmanageable and like just too much - any advice for what I should tell my hairstylist to do, cut tips? styles? should the hair at the back be cut shorter to make it less dense and more free flowing? step by step advice would be helpful or even a good product suggestion- Thanks

my advice to you is to have your hair thinned out by a professional then buy only professional products to tame your hair out ( american crew or redkin for men). one of my clients has very thick curly hair and about once a month i put a redkin relaxer on him. this doesn't completley get rid of all his curls, but it sure makes his hair more managable for the both of us to work with !

my hair is (was) exactly the same! i ended up cutting it short, and now i don't have a problem. but now i want to let it grow again, but it is such a pain, because it is the beginning when it is most difficult to manage. do you ever straighten it? my wife would do it with a flat iron, and it would look awesome.

My question is, how long will my hair have to be first in order to have a haircut remotely similar to that one (assuming I just got a buzzcut...my hair is really short right now, but it grows pretty long ). And how much hair gel will I need to style it ? (if any). If I managed to get a haircut style like that, how long would it be able to last, (before my hair grew out of that shape), before I would have to go to the salon again?

If you just got a buzzcut, it might take awhile for you to achieve the length for that cut, especially for the top. What you could do is wait a little while and let it grow out then just have the sides shorten and tell the stylist not to do anything to the top. Take the picture with you so he/she can offer advice as well. You will only need a little dab of a strong hold gel and if your hair grows out fast, you will have to go back and get it redone like maybe 4-6 weeks or something.

Short. Spiky. Your hair should be about two to four inches long. It would probably take a month or two to grow out, and you would probably need gel to keep it up like that.

Ok i'm a guy and I recently grew my hair out over the summer. I've went to supercuts and told them to thin it out. Now I haven't had long hair since i was a kid and before i would just get it buzzed then grow it out for 6 months.

Now I have grown it out and my hair is really thick and frizzy. It also curls near the top of my neck and around the ear. And I don't know much about hair but mine feels a bit dry. Now my goal was to make it look like this

However that isn't happening. So what should i do? right now I'd say my hair is about 2 in. long on the top and a little more then 2 in. in the back. (it does that for some reason)

I want to go to a hair salon soon so I can actually have it styled like i want but I have no idea what to say, and even after that how would i make it look like that. So can any one help me?

THEY SHOULD HAVE THINNING SHEARS AT ANY BARBER SHOP OR SALON. THEY THIN YOUR HAIR OUT WITHOUT CUTTING ANY LENGTH OFF. I GET IT DONE EVERY OTHER TIME I GET A CUT. IT MAKES STYLING YOUR HAIR EASIER AND GIVES YOU A CLEANER LOOK.

When you go to the stylist take the picture with you. Also try not to go to super cuts or any other chain. You might need to spend a little more money to get what you want. But it will be well worth it. You want a stylist not just a hair dresser, someone that knows of the haircuts that are in style.

To achieve that look have then cut it wet and dry to get your desired look.

To thin out think hair have them dry cut it with a razor.

Get a pixie cut or a short hair cut or whatever you want then get it bleached (or bleach it yourself) until it turns almost white, that really stands out nowadays since every person is going emo, if you really want to do something different Tye dye your whole head the rainbow. Watch out though if you get it done at a salon it will be pricey!

I am a college student and I am looking for a Black salon to care for my hair between visits to my hometown salon for relaxers. Mostly this means only washes, conditioners and styles. I have short hair and want to wear it in trendy sleek styles and pretty curls (not hard curls and lots of flips and things), but I don't have tons of money to spend. Like 4 months i cut my hair bob style it was really short it looked kinda like victoria beckhams but now its growing out very weird. The layers are all uneven and it look awkward when when i style it . I just cant hide all the uneven layers no matter what i do . im thinking of getting a trim but i really dont want to cut my hair shorter i just want for them to give it texture. Let it grow out a bit longer and then cut it even at the bottom. Have your stylist texture your hair after you trim to make it even.

If you can, leave the sides alone for a couple months but trim the back and have them blend it into the sides. The back of your head has your spine to circulate blood, which helps hair growth. So it will grow faster than the sides.

You can also take prenatle pills which have loads of protine, and other vitimins that are great, which is what hair is made of. Just take instead of your reagular vitimins. Or if you can find it, there is a brand of hair products called Nioxin, they sell pills. which does the same thing just more expensive

Well you can go to Walgreens and look in the hair product aisle and buy WET by Sebastian. It gives your hair the shinny wet look with out the greasy feeling and heavy build up. It's a little bit more than other products but it does do the job. Good Luck!
